On Friday, April 17th, members of Mrs. Marisa Huntsman's Organic Chemistry class went to IUP's Kopchick Hall to participate in an organic chemistry lab. IUP students worked with professor Dr. Fair to develop a lab that exposed the high school juniors and seniors to a college-level Organic Chemistry lab. The IHS students used their knowledge of Infrared Spectroscopy to run samples on the IR Spectrometer and analyze their results identifying unknown samples.
Mrs. Huntsman and her students would like to thank Dr. Fair, Dr. McElroy, the IUP chemistry students, and any one else who helped make this great learning experience possible. Students were able to expand on their college and career readiness to help them prepare for their futures in the science field.
